Dhokra Beautiful Brass Key Holder Hanger with 3 Hooks
Deep from the heart of tribal Bengal comes a craft that finds mention in the pages of history, during the Indus Valley Era around 2500 BCE (Remember the Dancing Girl statue?). Originating from the Dhokra Damar tribes in Bengal, Dhokra is non-ferrous metal casting using the lost wax technique. Being one of the acclaimed handicrafts of India, the art involves a tedious twelve stage process and preparation of various mediums to finally prepare a finished product. During this process, a basic mould is first created using a mixture of black soil and rice husk.
